QUESTION:
What causes cellulite and this look all over the legs? Genetics, or lack of exercise?I work out often, and the older I get, the more my legs look like this…then I compare myself to some girls my age, who NEVER have worked out in their life and have legs that look way better than mine
Makes me so discouraged like I am just doomed with bad skin tone or something no matter what. One friend had 3 kids, and looks great! All those months of bed rest, no exercise, and here I am working my butt off most of the time and look like crap!

ANSWER:
A lot of it IS genetic. If exercise isn’t working, then perhaps talk to a cosmetic surgeon. Plastic surgery will fix it, but are you sure you aren’t just being too self-critical?

QUESTION:
what causes cellulite?
and how can you get rid of it, i noticed that when i built muscle in my leg, then stop goin to the gym, went back started working back on my legs and now i am seeing mad cellulite?
my grandma also had horrible cottage cheese legs, so what iam trying to say is it genetic, or fat?-
ANSWER:
Cellulite’s dimpled appearance comes from an uneven distribution of fat cells underneath your skin. Cellulite is made worse by repeated weight loss and gain, and is certainly worsened the heavier you get. Unfortunately, cellulite is highly genetic. You can be super skinny but have cellulite just because your fat cells tend to be unevenly distributed. Also, your diet plays a part. A diet high in sugar and fat can exacerbate the appearance of cellulite.Getting rid of cellulite is tricky. Losing weight and building muscle helps. Try exercise that target your glutes and hamstrings. Some lotions that contain caffeine claim to cure cellulite. They can temporarily reduce the appearance of cellulite by tightening the skin, but their effect is temporary. Nivea has come out with a new lotion that contains l-carnitine, which supposedly helps eliminate cellulite.
My personal recomendation that has helped me greatly:
1. Lose weight, build muscle
2. Eliminate a lot of sugar and starch from your diet –focus on lots of veggies, fruit, protein, and whole grains.
3. Use self-tanner! It works MIRACLES. Try L’Oreal Sublime Bronze self-tanner spray. It sprays at all angles. Just spray your whole body, rub it in, wash your hands, and taDA! Or, for more subtle color, try L’Oreal Sublime Glow spray. It’s a little less intense and also moisturizes your skin.
4. Use a shimmery lotion, it makes your skin look flawless! If you don’t have shimmery lotion you can mix some bronzer or shimmer powder in with your regular lotion.

QUESTION:
What are stretch marks and cellulite caused by?
I have a friend who is extremely skinny. She’s 5.2″ and weights 97 lbs but she has cellulite on the backs of her upper thighs and stretch amrks on her buttocks and the backs of her knee. I don’t get it. I’m 5.5″ and I weight 120lb and we both don’t work out and I don’t have cellulite or stretch amrks. I don’t understand. I thought only people who gained alot of weight rapidly got stretmarks like in pregnancies. She’s too skinny, and she hates her legs. What could she do? Her mother who doesn’t know she has this problem bought her a bunch of short shoerts and she wants to wear them, but she wants to get rid of the cellulite and stretch marks. What can she do?btw, she does not have fatty foods or any red meats in her diets. she only eats vegatables, fruits, pastas and white meat.
sorry for all the typos.
My friend has been skinny throughout all of her life, and I know this because we’ve been next-door neighbors since we were 2.-
ANSWER:
Stretch marks are a normal part of puberty for most girls and guys. When a person grows or gains weight really quickly (like during puberty), that person may get fine lines on the body called stretch marks. Stretch marks happen when the skin is pulled by rapid growth or stretching. Although the skin is usually fairly elastic, when it’s overstretched, the normal production of collagen (the major protein that makes up the connective tissue in your skin) is disrupted. As a result, scars called stretch marks may form.If you’re noticing stretch marks on your body, you’re not alone. Most girls and women have stretch marks, which tend to show up on the breasts, thighs, hips, and butt. Many women get them during pregnancy. And while they’re more common in girls, guys can get stretch marks, too.
People who are obese often have stretch marks. Bodybuilders are prone to getting stretch marks because of the rapid body changes that bodybuilding can produce. Stretch marks also may occur if a person uses steroid-containing skin creams or ointments (such as hydrocortisone) for more than a few weeks, or has to take high doses of oral corticosteroids for months or longer.
At first, stretch marks may show up as reddish or purplish lines that may appear indented and have a different texture from the surrounding skin. Fortunately, stretch marks often turn lighter and almost disappear over time. But the fact that stretch marks usually fade and become less noticeable over time can be little consolation if you plan to spend most of your summer in a bathing suit.
Cellulite is a kind of fat tissue in the subcutaneous layer of the skin that contains constricting bands of connective tissue. This connective tissue, which varies in thickness and is laced with fat cells, is held in place by a network of fibers that protects our body, cushioning our muscles and organs; it is surrounded by a liquid that both nourishes it and provides it with an effective waste system. When all is working well in the system, waste products are removed and smooth curves result; when fats, fluids and toxins are trapped deep in the skin (below the epidural layer), however, the connective tissue thickens and hardens, giving a dimpling effect. As we mature, the layer of skin thins, resulting in the rippled appearance of cellulite.
What is the difference between cellulite and fat? Though everyone has a smooth layer of fat, individual amounts depend on weight, lifestyle and genetics. This fat layer is an insulator for the body and cushions the organs, muscles and nerves. Cellulite, on the other hand, is lumpy and provides no padding whatsoever. It only occurs in certain areas of the body: the thighs, buttocks, abdomen and breasts. When men get cellulite, it tends to be on the neck and abdomen.Cellulite is not necessarily a factor of body weight. You don’t have to be heavy to have cellulite. Though diet and lifestyle affect cellulite formation, a large part of cellulite is comprised of toxins and fat that build up in the body, and can affect women of any size, weight and body structure.
